Spelling Lists |
| Below is a list of words for each week that we have a spelling test. Your child should be bringing a list of words home weekly on the first day of the week. If they don’t, below is a reference for each week. If a word is capitalized in the list it must be capitalized on the test. Please note that beginning in week 8, there are two sentences that the children will also be tested on. Capitals and punctuation, as well as correct spelling of all words, are considered in grading the item. Each sentence is worth one point. Words with asterisks are words that are irregular and do not follow our spelling rules learned in phonics. These words, however, are integral words in your child’s written language and should therefore, be memorized. Most groups of irregular words follow some sort of pattern. See if you can discover it! |
