Good
Disciples |
During the week I look for ways that the children are being nice to one another (GOOD DISCIPLES). I begin in August to look for these random acts of kindness and put the student’s names in our star student aquarium. Remember, Jesus was “fisher of men.” At the end of the week, I will pull out two children’s names and they will be allowed to take a prize from the treasure chest. The rest of the children in the aquarium will be recognized as good disciples. This procedure gives the students the chance to receive something for their good behavior, but it also teaches them that it feels good to help others just for the sake of giving or doing. We have discussed that the prize isn’t what you receive, but instead, what you give. Many children are recognized several times per month but are only listed once and in no particular order. I apologize for any names that have been inadvertently omitted. Be sure to give your child praises for making the list this month and encouragement to those who may be recognized next month! Remember that if your child is not listed, it does not mean that they are not acting like good disciples…only that I haven’t “caught” them….YET! ? P.S. If you have any old McDonald toys or inexpensive fun stuff lying
around the house or see any inexpensive toys or fun small objects at
the store and would like to help fill our treasure chest, it would be
greatly appreciated. Some ideas are, freebies you get in the mail, McDonald
toys, fun pencils, fun-shaped notepads, fun-activity-books, stickers,
old mini calculators, cheap stencils, fun shoelaces…anything small
and that kids would love!
