Dear Students and Parents,

The objective of a junior high advanced placement math class is to prepare students to take Algebra 1 in 8th grade and Geometry in 9th grade. A syllabus will be given to students during the first week of school. Students will be expected to keep a notebook which will include information and examples given in class. These will be checked 2 or 3 times each quarter. Keeping a notebook helps students to stay focused during class and aids in homework and test preparation. Homework will be given on a regular basis and will be teacher graded. Tests will be given 3 or 4 times each quarter. Notebook, homework and tests will each count one third of the total quarter grade.

I look forward to another productive year.

Carol Rolf
