Dear parents and students,
As you are aware, the school year is drawing to a close. What an amazing
year filled with learning and fun! I am proud of all of you for all of
your hard work and dedication. Keep up the great diligence over your
summer vacation. I am excited to meet the new sixth graders who are
stepping up
into the Junior High. Congratulations to all of you, and welcome! As
for my current sixth and seventh graders, I am anticipating how much
you'll
grow over the summer into seventh and eighth graders. How very exciting!
I hope that your summer is relaxing, fun, and full of reading!
Speaking of reading, the summer reading for 6th-8th grade is as follows:
6th Graders: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster
7th Graders: The Giver by Lois Lowry
Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
8th Graders: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
I hope that you all have a wonderful summer! Enjoy reading the classics!
See you next year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dobie
