AUCTION

The St. Mary Dinner Dance Auction is a major fund-raiser for our school. Items and service donations are accepted from individuals and businesses and are auctioned off during a fun-filled evening. The auction is held in the spring. Please see the school calendar for the date of this years event.

BINGO

St. Mary Bingo contributes a significant portion of the income needed to operate our school. St. Mary Bingo is run entirely by school parents. Each parent must contribute by either working at bingo or bringing food for bingo. Buyout option is available.

BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB

For your child's birthday, you may purchase a book from the Rita Brown Bookstore inside Christ the Teacher Parish/Newman Catholic Student Center in DeKalb. This book will then have a name plate put inside with your child's name and birth date and will be placed in our main library for any student to use throughout the year. A percentage of the cost of the books purchased through the Rita Brown Bookstore is then given back to our library to purchase further books. Contact person is Patty Pumfrey.

BOOK FAIR

Sponsored by the Home & School Association, the Book Fair usually occurs at the end of the first quarter of the school year, during conferences. Volunteers are needed for set up, ringing up purchases, and clean-up after the fair.

BOX TOPS/SOUP LABELS

The collection of General Mills Box Tops is an ongoing project. Our school receives ten cents per box top that is collected and sent back to General Mills. Box tops may be dropped off in the School Office, Parish Office, or entrances of the church.

Cambell's Soup Labels This is an ongoing project in which the school has, over the years, received various items such as cassette players, computer software, overhead projectors, and other supplies. Labels can be dropped off in the School Office, Parish Office, or entrances of the church. Volunteers are needed to collect and cut the labels.

CARTRIDGES AND CELL PHONES

This is our seventh year participating in the Inkjet and Laserjet Cartridge recycling program using The Funding Factory. It has expanded to also accept cell phones. Please click on the above link to adopt our school and have mailing boxes sent to your business. Once on the Funding Factory site, click on the link "Business Support" to read about how you can help. Then click on the link at the bottom of the page "Register your business today". Complete the online form and enter our Beneficary ID # 9710. It's that easy. The Funding Factory will send prepaid boxes to use to mail in your cartridges and cell phones. When they receive your first shipment, our school will earn points for the cartridges that you send in as well as $10.00 just for signing up!These points are used to purchase equipment and software for our lab.

In the 7 years that we have been participating in this program we have earned 25,500 points which comes up to over
$10,000.00.

For individuals who do not generate enough cartridges to sign up for the adoption program, cartridges/phones can be dropped off in the School Office or Parish Office. Contact person is Marcia Feltes.

MANNA

A tuition credit program that involves buying bulk gift certificates to local and national retailers, restaurants, gas stations, etc. at a discount. Ninety percent of the discount will be credited to the purchaser of the certificate in the form of tuition credit. Contact people for the Manna Program are: Sara Olson and Juli Smith.

Current Order Forms can be picked up in the Parish or School Offices or in the literature display rack at the chapel entrance of the Church. Return order form by mail to 1608 E. Stonehenge Dr., Sycamore, IL 60178, drop off your order form in the Parish or School Office, or place it in the collection at Church by Thursday, July 7, or order online (simply click on logo above) by Wednesday, July 13 at 12:00 Noon. For more information, please contact the school.

Monies received from this program are given directly to the Home & School Association. They in turn, give an allotment to every teacher to be used for classroom supplies, help with outdoor education fees, offset bus field trip costs, and provide money as necessary to school or classes.

RAFFLE TICKETS

Every family is required to sell 10 raffle tickets for the school year. Buyout option is available. Dates for the raffle are January 1 through December 31. Each ticket is $15.00 and drawings are held every day of the year.

SEPTEMBERFEST

St. Mary sponsors a September Festival, which is an annual parish family event. This festival includes a carnival, food and craft booths, bingo, music, and many more attractions. This family fun event is run by volunteers from both the school and parish. All proceeds benefit the school. Click on the image above for the September Festival web page.
