PRE-KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
|
Are you looking for a Pre-Kindergarten program that will
provide your four year old with a head start on a positive kindergarten
experience? Is your child ready for a Pre-K program that will enhance
both social and academic skills? Would you like your child to attend
preschool in a faith-filled, nurturing environment that provides all the amenities
of a larger school setting? If you answered yes to any of these questions,

registering your child in the St. Mary School Pre-Kindergarten Program.
The Pre-Kindergarten program is designed
to better accommodate children's needs and parents' schedules. A two, three,
or five day morning
program is offered, as well as a full-day option with aftercare. The Pre-K
program at St. Mary offers several features that make it unique in our local
community:
| * Taught by a Bachelor of Education degreed and State of Illinois
certified teacher who is a part-time faculty member at St. Mary
School. The
program is housed in the primary grade wing of St. Mary School, across
the hallway from the kindergarten classroom. This setting provides
students with a Chapel, gymnasium, library, computer lab, cafeteria,
and spacious playground, and allows the Pre-K students to become
familiar
with the kindergarten class and teacher. |
| * Students participate in Physical Education, Computer Technology
and Music classes, library, prayer services, student assemblies,
and the annual Christmas music program.

| * An important feature of the program is the strong academic component,
which provides students with activities that develop and enhance fundamental
language, math, and large/fine motor skills in preparation for kindergarten.
Advanced or gifted students are offered opportunities to progress
beyond the Pre-K level in specific academic areas, if appropriate.

| * The program offers a flexible multi-day schedule that is designed
to accommodate children’s needs and parents’ lifestyles.
Two, three, or five day morning sessions are available, as well as
a full-day/after care option. |
In order to enroll for the 2007/2008 school year, students must be four
