ST. MARY SCHOOL
HOT LUNCH PROGRAM
2007-2008

Preferred Meal Systems, Inc. is the meal service system used at St. Mary School. Preferred Meals strives to provide a wholesome, nutritious lunch to each child, with a selection that children like.

Every meal follows the nutritional guidelines set forth by the National School Lunch Program. Each lunch consists of 2 ounces of protein, 2 servings of fruit and/or vegetables, 1-2 servings of breads and 8 fl. ounces of milk. The federal guidelines require that school lunches contain 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance of calories, with less that 30% of the calories from fat, and less than 10% of the calories from saturated fat. You can be assured that in an average week, every menu meets or exceeds the USDA minimums for calories, vitamins and minerals and does not exceed the fat and saturated fat restriction.

When your child eats a Preferred meal you can be assured that it is prepared under strict sanitary conditions, inspected by the USDA. Meals are microbiologically tested before shipping to ensure safety and are delivered to the school frozen to remain temperature controlled until served. Each menu item is individually sealed to prevent contamination during preparation, heating and serving.

Meal prices are $2.55 per meal. A monthly order form will be sent home to be filled out and returned to school by the indicated date. There will also be a copy of the menu and the order form below that can be printed out at home and sent in by the due date.

Late orders cannot be accepted.
