Religious Education Curriculum

Each level of the R.E. program recognizes four key elements: the Person, Prayer, Scripture and Celebration. Each of these elements is part of the life of a Christian, and needs to be continually developed throughout a person's whole life. Attendance at Sunday Liturgies by each family is the best way to start each week, helping to reinforce these key elements in the child's RE class.

All students receive a textbook to read and will be asked to complete the various activities assigned. Your child/ren will also be expected to memorize prayers, scripture verses, and vocabulary words. Parents need to be involved and help their child with these tasks, and take the initiative to see that all reading and assigned work is completed. Children in grades 3-8 are expected to read the lesson in advance and be prepared to discuss it. Your involvement and active participation is a sign to your child that you care, and are interested in their faith formation.

Each child is given a folder in which to keep various assigned activities and handouts. Please check your child's folder each week for assignments, family activities and/or program information.
