The focus of the Health & Wellness Ministry is twofold: assisting those members who are unable to join the community in worship and to make available a variety of health and wellness programs for all parishioners. The Health & Wellness Ministry is about those in need and those helping others. Maybe it is the young mother, confined to bed rest during some of their pregnancy; or the family in crisis because of hospitalization; or the disabled, homebound, or those confined to care facilities. An important goal is to include a spiritual component in all aspects of the ministry. Please include us in your daily prayers. Please contact the Parish Office if you need assistance- 758-5432. Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I, Send Me!" - Isaiah 6:8
Ministers of Care are appointed by the pastor, trained, and commissioned to reach out from the parish to those who are ill and/or unable to join in our weekly liturgies. Ministers of Care visit patients at Kishwaukee Hospital on a daily basis. The Ministers of Care also hold communion services at all the area nursing homes and facilities and visit approximately 15 home-bound parishioners. (Please see below for a schedule.) Ministers of Care are the link between the person unable to participate in the weekly liturgy and the worshipping body of the church. Ministers of Care are also Eucharistic Ministers and they are registered members of the parish who are in full communion with the church. They regularly participate in parish worship life, especially Mass and the Sacraments. Ministers of Care have a deep devotion to the Holy Eucharist and good listening skills and they have a compassion for those in need. If you would like to be visited by our Ministry of Care and/or would like to receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, please contact the Parish Office. Ministry of Care Schedule
